DRUM SCREEN

ConDrum is a drum screen which with advantage can be used in for example septic trucks where screening and solid particles shall be separated before entering into the car's tank. ConDrum is also an advantageous product to be used in the food industry. The Drum Screen is a pre treatment unit with relatively few loose parts. It consists of a driving unit and a cylinder shaped drum. The screen is supplied with slot widths between 0,25-1,5 mm.

The design is made of stainless steel and has a completely covered enclosure.

Function

The wastewater passes through the strainer’s inlet and the through the slowly rotating cylindrical drum. The screening which is greater than the drum’s opening is carried over the drum and removed with the scraper blade. The scraper blade is designed to remove the screening from the drum and transfer it to a container or similar. The incoming water passes through the upper part of the drum, falls through the sieve and out at the bottom. The filtered water washes away any particles that are stuck in the grate sieve and that has not been removed by the scraper blade. This leads to an efficient self-cleaning sieve.

If water has a high fat content or when the sanitary situation makes frequent cleaning necessary, a flush system can be used for flushing with steam or hot water under relatively high pressure.

Installation

ConDrum is delivered as a complete unit ready for installation. It requires no special preparation for mounting but a flat place. Around the machine there must be enough space to collect the screening in a container or similar and for the transport/removal of screening.

Components

Most components such as gears, bearings and bushings, etc. are in the standard version and have a short time of delivery. All painted components are coated for protection against corrosion by Conpura.  The stainless steel parts are stained and passivated. To eliminate the risk of corrosion some of the steel components hot galvanized.

The Drum Screen are always delivered with the following switches:
a) A level switch at the inlet which sends an alarm and throttles the inlet flow
b) A safety switch that stops the screen when the hood is opened.
